Maine Man Indicted For Bank Robbery

A Lewiston Maine man has been indicted for his roll in a bank robbery in June at the Androscoggin Bank in Lewiston. If convicted, he faces prison time and a hefty fine.

According to court records, on June 6, 57-year old Keith Phillips of Lewiston entered the bank and approached a teller, passing a note that contained a message demanding money. The note also had information stating that Phillips had a firearm.

He wanted the teller to give him $2000.

If convicted, Phillps faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

The Lewiston Police Department investigated the case, along with the FBI, the Southern Maine Gang Taskforce, the ATF, and the Central Maine Violent Crime Task Force.
