State Police responded to the crash at approximately 10:30 Tuesday night, according to a press release from Sgt. Brian Harris.

Bruce Bernier, 47, of Sanford was traveling south in his 2002 Dodge pickup when he lost control and skidded off the opposite side of the roadway, Harris said.  The pickup struck a mailbox and rolled over onto its roof.

Trooper Andrew Levesque responded to the crash site to find the driver had left the scene.  Bernier was located a short time later at a residence in Fort Kent.  He was arrested and charged with OUI, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and violation of bail conditions.
