A 42-year-old man from Linneus has pleaded guilty to Drug Trafficking in Aroostook and Penobscot Counties.
Man Pleaded Guilty to Drug Trafficking in Northern Maine
James Valiante was charged with his role in a conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine and fentanyl.
Trafficked Meth and Fentanyl for Years
Court records show Valiante trafficked meth and fentanyl in Aroostook County and Penobscot County between January 2018 and December 2021.
“Drug Dealer in Aroostook County”
“Valiante, a drug dealer in Aroostook County, participated in the conspiracy by regularly obtaining quantities of drugs from his source of supply in the Bangor area,” said court documents.
Facing up to 10 Years to Life in Prison
Valiante faces up to 10 years to life n prison and a fine up to $10 million. He will also have supervised release for five years.
Twenty-One Defendants Charged
Ten other defendants have been sentenced and nine have pleaded guilty related to the case. Twenty-one people have been charged.
