Maine law enforcement was honored Friday for training students & teachers in active shooter response in Aroostook County Schools.

Colonel John Cote of the Maine State Police gave awards in Augusta to Sgt. Matt Cummings from the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office, Officer Ricky Pelletier of Caribou PD, Lt. Brian Harris, Sgt. Jeff Clark, Sgt. Josh Haines & Trooper Andrew Levesque of the Maine State Police.

The Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office said:

(The officers were honored) for their efforts in providing countless hours of active shooter response training to teachers and students in nearly every Aroostook County School.

The Caribou Police department said:

These officers have spent a lot of time training at County schools, helping to keep our children and teachers safe.
