A 35-year-old man died Saturday night after a single-vehicle rollover crash on Front Ridge Road in Penobscot.

Man was Ejected from the Vehicle and Died from his Injuries

Zachary McKechnie from Bucksport was ejected from the vehicle and died from his injuries

Speed and Alcohol are Believed to be Contributing Factors in the Crash

“Speed and alcohol are believed to be contributing factors to the crash,” according to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.

Vehicle Lost Control, Went Off the Road, Swerved Back on the Roadway and Rolled Over

Deputies said McKechnie’s vehicle lost control and went off the road. He overcorrected and swerved back onto the roadway and rolled over.

More Evidence Collected and Crash Reconstruction

The incident remains under investigation as more evidence was collected and the crash was reconstructed.

Multiple Agencies Responded to the Crash Site as the Investigation is Ongoing

Responding to the scene were Detectives, Deputies with the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, the Penobscot Fire Department, the Blue Hill Fire Department and the Orland Fire Department.
