An Edmundston man faces drug trafficking charges after police seized a large amount of methamphetamine pills, and other drug related items from an apartment not far from a local elementary school.

Edmundston police executed a search warrant Tuesday in the apartment on D’Amours Street.  Along with meth, police say they found marijuana, drug paraphernalia and several knives at the residence.  The estimated street value of the drugs is more than $3,500.

Following the drug seizure, 29-year-old Alain Pigeon of Edmundston was arrested on drug trafficking charges and will appear in court on Monday.
