Arrests Made in the Cherryfield Homicide Case [PHOTOS]
A man and woman from New York City were arrested in New York and charged Wednesday in connection with the homicide last week in Cherryfield, Maine.
37-year-old Carine Reeves and 19-year-old Quaneysha Greeley are being held on fugitive from justice charges, said Stephen McCausland, Public Safety Spokesman. The two were arrested around 8 a.m. in the Laurelton section of Queens. New York City Police made the arrest on 141st Street. Greeley is a former Lewiston resident.
Reeves and Greeley will be returned to Maine and charged with murder in connection with the death of 55-year-old Sally Shaw whose body was found alongside Route 193 in Cherryfield last Wednesday, said McCausland.
Four State Police detectives drove to New York Tuesday and coordinated the arrests with New York authorities. Murder charges were authorized from the Maine Attorney General’s Office earlier this week, McCausland said.
Reeves and Greeley will appear in court Thursday at the Queen’s County Criminal Courthouse. They are being held at Queen’s Central Booking.
