A 40-year-old man was arrested Tuesday in Caribou after a months-long investigation into felony drug trafficking.
40-Year-Old Man Arrested for Drug Trafficking in Caribou, Maine
The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency’s Aroostook County Task Force executed a search warrant Tuesday and arrested Jose Verdugo at 21 Fontaine Drive in Caribou. Verdugo is from Monrovia, California.
Investigation Involved Controlled Purchases
During the investigation, agents did controlled purchases of fentanyl from Verdugo at the residence.
Meth, Oxycodone and Fentanyl Seized
Law enforcement seized “a pound of methamphetamine, approximately 446 Oxycodone 30mg pills and approximately 30 grams of fentanyl were recovered during the search of the residence. The estimated street value of the drugs seized is over $60,000 dollars,” said the MDEA.
Suspect Facing Charges
Verdugo is facing charges for three Counts of Aggravated Drug Trafficking and one Count of Unlawful Drug Trafficking. He was transported to the Aroostook County Jail with a cash bail set at $30,000.
