33-Year-Old Man Died & Tesla Caught on Fire after Crash in Maine
A 33-year-old man died Thursday morning and his Tesla caught on fire after crashing into a tree in Naples.
Man Died after Tesla Crash
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said Sergi Kolesnick from Harrison was driving a 2024 Tesla when he crashed with a “high-speed impact with a tree.”
Driver Died at the Scene
Kolesnick was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident happened around 10:41 am on Harrison Road (Route #35).
Scene was a “debris field of batteries” and Spot Fires
The Tesla caught on fire and “several of the components of the vehicle became dislodged due to the impact. The vehicle components created a significant debris field of batteries, and several spot fires occurred,” said the Sheriff’s Office.
Hazardous Material Scene
First responders worked for several hours to contain the scene and prevent fires from spreading to nearby homes and woods. The crash site was managed as a Hazardous Materials Scene and cleanup.
