
28-Year-Old Man Pleads Guilty to Drug Trafficking in Maine
A 28-year-old man pleaded guilty Tuesday to two counts of drug trafficking in Maine.
Facing 10+ Years and $10 Million Fine
Alexis Mariano De Leon (aka Leon Leon) from the Dominican Republic faces more than 10 years in prison and a $10 million fine.
Trafficked Drugs to Maine
Leon was a co-conspirator who transported fentanyl into Maine from Massachusetts between August 2023 and June 2024, said court records.
Social Media Used to Distribute Fentanyl
He used a Facebook account to arrange fentanyl trafficking in the Bangor area.
DEA Controlled Buys
The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration did several controlled buys. Leon was arrested after a traffic stop near Pittsfield. Police seized over a kilogram of fentanyl from the vehicle.
Drug Press Found at Residence
A press for compressing powder to brick form was also confiscated from his residence.
Federal and State Investigators
Investigating the case was the DEA, the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Maine State Police.
