Awards season is upon us! Known as "Country’s Biggest Night," the CMAs are one of the most anticipated dates on the calendar for all country fans. So, when are the 2017 CMA Awards?

In 2017, the Country Music Association ceremony will take place live from Bridgestone Arena in downtown Nashville on Nov. 8. This year marks the 51st annual awards ceremony, and like past shows, it is bound to include stellar performances and impressive collaborations by some of country music's biggest stars. The nominees have already been announced (find that list here), but so much news about the show is still to come.

There will surely be some surprises, too. Beyonce shocked the crowd in 2016 when she joined forces with the Dixie Chicks, and the pairing was the subject of much debate for days — okay, months — following. While some didn’t think the pop/R&B singer belonged on the CMAs stage, her performance of the country-tinged ballad "Daddy Lessons" proved captivating.

2015's CMA Awards brought into the spotlight the unmistakable talent of Chris Stapleton, who had primarily worked behind the scenes in the industry for years. His show-stopping performance with Justin Timberlake was also a hot topic for weeks afterward and gave his Traveller album attention it deserved.

We've come a long way since the first-ever CMA Awards in 1967. They weren't televised, but the CMA knew they were onto something, and the next year NBC taped the show to air two weeks later.

Country fans, be ready for Nov. 8 — the night of the 51st annual CMA Awards — which air on ABC. As in past years, the evening will surely live up to its description of Country’s Biggest Night!
