See Poe Dameron’s New and Improved X-Wing in ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’
It’s getting to that time of the year when Lucasfilm starts sprinkling new The Last Jedi detals. This afternoon we learned some new info about Andy Serkis‘ Supreme Leader Snoke in the new film, namely that we won’t get an origin story for the villain. And now we have a brand look at Poe’s new and improved X-Wing in the upcoming Star Wars movie.
Oscar Isaac’s Poe Dameron will be back in the Rian Johnson movie, but his starfighter will look a little different. Empire magazine’s The Last Jedi cover includes a new photo of Black One, Poe’s T-70 X-wing fighter. In the new movie Poe’s fighter will be retrofitted with a thrust to improve Poe’s speed and help him escape enemy fire quicker. Johnson told the magazine that the fighter has been modified by Resistance mechanics with a temporary accelerator pod. Empire shared a new photo of the upgraded Black One as Pie dodges First Order Star Destroyers:
Poe’s upgraded fighter won’t be the only thing new in The Last Jedi. A few weeks back we got a look at two new vehicles in the movie, including the First Order’s AT-M6, a “simian-like” update to the original AT-ATs, and the Dreadnought, a bigger Imperial Star Destroyer. Poe is gonna need all the boosts he can get to outrun the First Order’s new toys.
Keep your eyes out as new Star Wars news surfaces in the coming months. The Last Jed hits theaters December 15.
