Maine drug agents have arrested a 20-year-old Frenchville man on charges of trafficking in methamphetamine after an undercover operation.

Maine Drug Enforcement agents from the Aroostook County District Task Force arrested Michael Fongemie of Frenchville Friday evening after he allegedly sold a quantity of the illicit drug to undercover officers.

Fongemie has been the subject of an investigation involving the distribution of methamphetamine tablets, according to a press release from the MDEA.

Drug agents took Fongemie into custody and a subsequent search yielded a loaded .32 caliber handgun. Officers say they seized approximately 200 tablets containing methamphetamine, with an estimated street value of $5000.

Fongemie was transported to the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton. He was released on $20,000 cash bail on Saturday.
