Two Central Maine Women Arrested & Charged with Manslaughter
A 24-year-old Rockport woman and a 36-year-old Thorndike woman were arrested and charged Thursday with manslaughter.
The Waldo County Grand Jury issued the indictments. Detectives have been investigating two separate deaths in Waldo and Burnham in recent months. The two woman, Victoria Scott and Tara Shibles, are charged in connection with these investgations, said Stephen McCausland, Public Safety Spokesman.
State Police detectives arrested Scott at her home at 61 Vinal Street in Rockport and Shibles at her home at 244 Gordon Hill Road in Thorndike, Thursday.
McCausland said, Scott is charged in the death of 43-year-old Edwin Littlefield who died outside a home in Waldo on February 8.
Shibles is charged in connection with the death of 72-year-old Joyce Woods of Burnham who died outside her home after an intruder had entered it in the early morning hours of April 2, said McCausland. Aggravated criminal trespass and assault were added to Shibles charges, said the Public Safety Spokesman.
Both women were taken to the Waldo County Jail following their arrests.
