Turner Woman Dies in Collision on Maine Turnpike in Auburn
AUBURN, Maine (AP) — Police say a woman has died following a two-vehicle crash on the Maine Turnpike in Auburn.
Police say a pickup truck collided with a sedan operated by 48-year-old Crystal Hewitt, of Turner early Friday. She died at Central Maine Medical Center. A passenger in her vehicle was treated and released from a hospital. The accident happened on northbound Washington Street at the intersection with Exit 75.
The driver of the pickup, 57-year-old James Bannister, also of Turner, was treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are investigating.
