Three people were injured after a fire at an apartment building in Warren.

Three Injured and All Tenants Escaped Fire

All the tenants in the building at 288 Main Street were able to escape the fire around 6 am Thursday.

Three People Injured and Transported to the Hospital

Two women and one man who lived in the affected unit were taken to the hospital. 

Woman Injured after Jumping from Second Floor Window

One woman injured herself after she jumped from a second floor window.

Women Treated for Smoke Inhalation

Another woman was taken to the hospital due to smoke inhalation.

Man Transferred to Hospital for Smoke Inhalation

A man with smoke inhalation was taken to Pen Bay Medical Center and later transferred to Main Medical Center.

Injured Tenant Released from Hospital

All three tenants were treated and later released.

Building is Oldest Structure in the Area

“The building which is divided into three rental units is believed to be the oldest structure in that area of Warren. All units were occupied at the time of the fire, and all occupants were able to escape the building,” according to Shannon Moss, Public Information Officer, Maine Department of Public Safety.

Fire Originated on a Living Room Couch

The origin of the fire was a couch in the first floor living room.

Cause of Fire was Smoking Materials

“The cause of the fire is believed to be the careless use of smoking materials,” said Moss.

Multiple First Responders on the Scene

Responding to the scene was the Warren Fire and Rescue and the Warren Police Department.
