The  vehicle overturned after it rolled up on a snow bank.  The 3 boys – all 18 – were wearing seat belts and were not injured. The SUV was stolen early Friday morning in Carrabassett Valley and was spotted along the turnpike in Falmouth at mid-morning.

Troopers attempted to stop the vehicle after it went through the Maine Mall exit and  it began to take off. Attempting to end the pursuit before the SUV got into a heavily populated area, Troopers performed a PIT maneuver, which brought the chase to an end.

In addition to the stolen SUV, cash, wine and other items were taken from the Stratton Brook Huts, where the teens were staying with Long Creek staffers overnight.  The Nissan SUV was stolen from a residence near the hut’s trailhead.

The driver was 19 year old Jesse James Ramsdell of Acton.  The two passengers were Christopher Harmon of Sanford, and Jonathan Vasselian of Sumner, both 18. The trio is charged with unauthorized use of property and were taken to the Cumberland County jail.  Additional charges from Carrabassett Valley Police are likely.
