Six dogs were found dead at Coastal Dreams Rescue and Sanctuary on Millvale Road in Bucksport.
Dogs Found Dead at Rescue in Maine
Police said the owner, Ellisha Krutuleski from Bucksport, was issued a warrant for her arrest.
Six Dead Dogs Found and 28 Dogs Living in Poor Health
The six dead dogs were decomposing in trash bags and crates on the property. There were also 28 living dogs who were found thin, in poor health and living in inhumane conditions, said WABI News.
Dog Sanctuary Searched
Law enforcement searched the premises on July 30. Krutuleski was not there at the time due to an illness.
Owner Faces Cruelty to Animals Charges
Krutuleski is facing six counts of aggravated cruelty to animals and one count of cruelty to animals.
