The first vehicle accident happened at around 9:07 A.M. on Saturday. The Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a single vehicle crash on Route 161
in St. Francis.  The investigation revealed that 18-year-old Paige Michaud, of St.
Francis, was operating a 2006 Ford Focus eastbound on Route 161 in St.
Francis when she lost control of her vehicle, left the roadway and went
over an embankment.

Ms. Michaud, the sole vehicle occupant, received non-life threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance to the Northern Maine Medical Center in Fort Kent. While the crash remains under investigation, speed appears to be a contributing factor.

The second accident happened at around 5:43 P.M. Saturday. The Aroostook County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to a motorcycle crash at 430 Dickey Road in
Allagash. The crash investigation revealed that 23-year-old Dana Watts of
Westbrook, was operating his 2003 Kawasaki ZR1000 eastbound on the
Dickey Road in Allagash when he failed to negotiate a corner.

Mr. Watts left the roadway and sustained fatal injuries. He was wearing a helmet.
The crash remains under investigation but speed appears to be a factor.
