
Man Sentenced to 4 Years for Drug Trafficking & Firearms in Maine
A 46-year-old man was sentenced to four years in prison for drug trafficking and illegal firearms possession in Maine.
Four Years in Prison and Three years Supervised Release
Thomas Ray Cook from Jay was also given three years supervised release by U.S. District Judge Stacy D. Neumann.
Man Pleaded Guilty to Drugs and Firearms Charges
Cook was charged with distributing narcotics and illegally possessing a firearm. He pleaded guilty to the charges.
Man Sold Cocaine to Confidential Informant with the MDEA
“Cook sold $600 worth of cocaine to a Maine Drug Enforcement Agency (MDEA) confidential information source (CI) in February 2025 from Cook’s home in Jay,” according to the United States Attorney’s Office.
Sold More Cocaine and Firearms
He then sold cocaine and firearms for $1,600 in March 2025 at a different residence in Farmington.
Prohibited from Possessing Firearms from Prion Felonies
Cook was prohibited from possessing firearms after several prior felony convictions in the State of Maine including Aggravated Operating after Habitual Offender Revocation and Eluding an Officer.
Man was Facing Up to 20 years for Drug Charges and 15 Years on Firearms Offenses
He was facing up to 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine for the narcotics charges and up to 15 years in jail and a $250,000 fine for the gun charge.
Lead Investigators in the Drug Trafficking Case
The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.
