John Labbe from Greene was charged with possessing controlled substances with the intent to distribute and for possessing a firearm in furtherance of a federal drug trafficking crime.
Sentenced to 120 Months with Five Years Supervised Release
He was given 120 months with five years of supervised release. Labbe pleaded guilty to the charges on July 1, 2025. U.S. District Judge Nancy Torresen handed down the sentence.
Pulled Over for a Traffic Stop While Driving a Vehicle Unlawfully
Labbe was pulled over in January 2025 while he was unlawfully driving a vehicle in Lewiston, according to the United States Attorney's Office.
Multiple Items Seized Included Fentanyl, Cocaine Base and Gun with Laser Sight
He was detained and police searched the vehicle. A handgun with a laser sight was found and seized. Officers also found fentanyl and cocaine base inside a backpack he was wearing.
Cell Phone had Information about Arranged Drug Trafficking
His cell phone had communications for drug trafficking of the controlled substances.
Arrested and Transported to County Jail to Face Charges
Labbe was taken into custody and transported to the Cumberland County Jail.
Lead Investigators Included Local Police and Federal Agencies
Law enforcement involved in the investigation and case was the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Lewiston Police Department, the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, and the Maine Attorney General’s Office.
