Aroostook County Sheriff's Deputies arrested a Seals Harbor man Monday evening in Mapleton for possession of crystal meth and OUI.

Aroostook County Sheriff's Deputies and the Maine State Police responded Monday evening to a suspicious vehicle parked on Carvell Road in Mapleton.

A home owner who reported the incident said a man appeared to be passed out inside the vehicle. After waking the man up to check on his well being, he pulled into the home owners driveway and refused to leave, said Sheriff Darrell O. Crandall.

When authorities arrived, 46-year-old Richard Kinney from Seals Harbor was slouched over in the driver's seat, said Sheriff Crandall.

A certified drug recognition expert assessed that Kinney was operating under the influence of drugs, said Crandall.

About $200 of crystal meth was seized from the vehicle. Kinney was charged with unlawful possession of scheduled drugs, said Crandall. He was transported to the Aroostook County Jail, where he remains. Bail was set at $500 cash.
