The Aroostook County Sheriff's Office received a report of a single-vehicle crash just before midnight, according to Sheriff Darrell Crandall.

The investigation revealed that Stephanie Turner of St. Agatha was traveling north on Route 161 when she failed to negotiate a curve after the intersection of the Colby Siding Road. Turner's 2008 Jeep Liberty went through the guard rail and was airborne for 45 to 50 feet before landing nose first into an embankment and rolling over, Crandall said.

Turner, who was alone in the vehicle, was transported to Cary Medical Center in Caribou with what police called "non-life threatening injuries." Speed and weather appear to be contributing factors, Crandall said.

Deputy Sheriff Chad Foley responded to the crash, which remains under investigation.
