A snowmobile did $21,000 worth of damage at a tree nursery in Dayton and the Maine Warden Service is looking for those involved.

Trees and Saplings were Damaged at a Local Nursery

The snowmobile ran over multiple small trees and saplings at the Pierson Nurseries between Thursday, February 26 and Saturday, February 28.

Snowmobile Left the Marked Trail and Rode Through a Roped Off Area

Officials said a snowmobile went off the marked trail and went through a roped off area at the nursery, running over the trees.

The Estimated Damage to the Trees and Saplings at the Nursery was $21,000

The estimated damage was $21,000, said Mark Latti, Communications Director for the Maine Department for Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.

$2.000 Offered as Reward for Information Leading to an Arrest

“Saco Pathfinders Snowmobile Club and Maine Snowmobile Association are each offering $500, and Maine Operation Game Thief is offering $1,000, for a total reward of $2,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible,” according to Latti.
