RaeLynn will not be someone’s last resort, that’s for sure. She just put out her video for "Lonely Call," a mid-tempo ballad telling it like it is to a guy who just doesn’t get it.

RaeLynn provides the soundtrack as a woman laments a breakup, sitting at home watching TV until the guy tries to come crawling back by calling her late at night. Not on RaeLynn’s watch.

The artist ends up playing the role of the girlfriend of the main character, coming over to help her friend say no to the guy who keeps calling, and she's armed with ice cream and tissues. The rest of the "Lonely Call" video features RaeLynn cheering up her friend and inviting others over to do the same, ultimately singing the lyrics into the phone to the guy in question.

The sassy but heartfelt song is a true representation of who RaeLynn is — down to the plot, actually. She says she wrote it about her now-husband, Josh. After dating for ten months, they broke up for two years before their relationship became the one it is today. She explains that she wrote it as an inspiration to herself.

“The only way I can get over this is if he quits contacting me,” she remembers thinking at the time. She says the song kind of got pushed to the back burner after they were back together, but her husband didn’t hear the song until they were an item again.

“He was like, ‘Well at least we know when we broke up you got some good songs out of it,’” she says with a laugh. “He was like, ‘I felt so bad but now I don’t feel so bad if it makes you a lot of money.’”

"Lonely Call" is the latest single off of RaeLynn's new record Wildhorse, which came out in March.
