Heading into the fall season, gas prices around New England continue to fall.

According to the latest survey by GasBuddy.com, prices in Maine declined by 1.8 cents a gallon to an average $2.58. As of Monday morning, most stations in Presque Isle were charging in the vicinity of $2.75 a gallon.

Next door in New Hampshire, prices at the pump dropped 2.5 cents a gallon in the last week to an average $2.51 a gallon. Vermont saw no change from last week, at $2.67 a gallon.

Meanwhile, the national average checked in at $2.58 a gallon. That's a decrease of 16.3 cents from last month and 25 cents cheaper than one year ago at this time.
