Passenger air service at Presque Isle International Airport is set to resume Wednesday evening, ending a nine-day break in service due to a mishap earlier this month.

The first flight will be United Airlines 4939 from Newark, N.J. to Presque Isle scheduled for Wednesday, March 13 departing Newark at 9:55 PM and arriving at 11:59 PM into Presque Isle, according to public Information Officer Kim Smith

Passenger service at the Presque Isle airport was temporarily discontinued after a 50-seat jet slid off the runway on March 4th. Smith said the airport and all runways have been open for a few days and non-passenger flights such as Fedex have been taking place.
