Oxford County Woman Killed In Fiery Crash with Wood Chip Truck
Maine State Police say a woman was killed this afternoon when her car struck a tractor trailer along Route 25 in the Oxford County town of Porter. The cab of the pickup truck then burst into flames.
State spokesman Steve McCausland says the woman was 50-year-old Donna-Lee Zahn of Parsonsfield. The driver of the tractor trailer was 32-year-old Gary Runnells of Canaan.
The head-on crash took place about a half mile from the Kezar Falls Bridge near the Ossipee River about 12:30 pm.
Runnells was hauling wood chips and escaped injury. A section of Route 25 and US Route 160 in the area known locally as Ossipee Trail was closed for several hours and detours were set up around the crash site. A team of troopers have been investigating the crash.
