After several weeks of rising gas prices around New England, prices at the pumps have come down a bit.

Gas prices in Maine, according to the latest GasBuddy.com survey, fell 1.7 cents in the past week to an average of $2.81. Gas prices in Presque Isle dropped a couple of cents from last week's price of $2.91 to $2.89 this week.

New Hampshire saw a decrease of 2.4 cents a gallon to an average price of $2.74. Vermont's pump prices didn't show much of a drop, less than a penny to $2.79 a gallon on average.

The national average fell 3.8 cents from the week before, to $2.85 a gallon. That's up only 2.1 cents a gallon from last month at this time, but is 1.1 cents a gallon cheaper than a year ago.
