Good news for motorists. Gas prices around New England continue their downward slide.

Prices at the pump in Maine, according to GasBuddy.com, dropped 2.5 cents in the last week, to an average of $2.55 a gallon. Prices in Presque Isle ranged from a low of $2.62 a gallon to a high of $2.75, as of Tuesday morning.

Neighboring New Hampshire saw gas prices fall 1.4 cents a gallon from last week to an average $2.51 a gallon. Vermont saw the smallest drop in price from last week, just under a penny, to $2.63 a gallon.

The national average is down 14.6 cents from last month to $2.56 a gallon. That's 26.1 cents a gallon lower than it was a year ago.
