New Children’s Books Coming to Presque Isle Library

A grant from the Pilcrow Foundation means the Mark & Emily Turner Memorial Library in Presque Isle is getting a lot of new book for kids.

The library is getting 73 children’s books valued at $1,200 from the Pilcrow Foundation, founded in 2013 to continue the work of The Libri Foundation. Besides the $1200 grant, two individual donors, Mr. Hal Berenson and Mrs. Laura Ackerman of Colorado, donated an additional 24 children’s math and science books valued at $403.57.

To celebrate the donation, the library will be holding a small event with light refreshments to showcase these new books on Friday, Oct.11 at 3:30pm in the Children’s Library on the main floor.

The mission of the Pilcrow Foundation is to provide new, quality, hardcover children’s books to rural public libraries across the U.S. Providing quality children’s books to rural public libraries ensures an opportunity for active engagement within the community and lifelong learning. The mission of the Mark and Emily Turner Memorial Library is to provide quality materials and services in a comfortable, open environment.
