A 30-year-old man and a 53-year-old woman were seriously injured Tuesday morning after a two-vehicle crash on Route 196 in Lisbon, Maine.

Woman Trapped in SUV and Extricated

The woman was trapped in her Volvo SUV and extricated by first responders with the Lisbon Fire Department.

Woman Taken to the Hospital with Serious Injuries

She was transported to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston with serious injuries.

Man Seriously Injured and Transported to the Hospital

The man driving a Ford F-150 truck was seriously injured and taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland.

Police said Crash Happened after Volvo Pulled in Front of Ford

The Lisbon Police Department said the Volvo made a left turn and “pulled out in front of the Ford when the collision occurred” around 6:27 am near Summer Street.

Witnesses Stopped to Help Crash Victims

Witnesses stopped and helped the drivers before police and EMS were on the scene.

Both Vehicles Extensively Damaged After Collision

The Volvo had heavy damage to the front-end and driver’s side. The Ford had significant damage and came to rest on the side of the road.
