Man Shot, Killed and Buried Dog Then Shot at Neighbors in Maine
A 32-year-old man was arrested Monday after he shot and killed his dog and fired his gun at a neighbor’s house on Red Barn Road in Norridgewock.

The Somerset County Sheriff’s Office said Nicholas Eckert is charged with reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon and criminal threatening. He is being held on $100,000 bail.

Witnesses saw him dragging his dog across his lawn. Police said he shot, killed and buried his dog.
Threatened to Shoot Neighbors
Eckart had a gun in his hand and was screaming threats to shoot anyone who called the police, said WABI News.
Gunshot Hit TV in Neighbor’s House
Eckert fired a shot into the neighbor’s house and hit their TV in the living room.
Man had a Gun and Screamed at Deputies to Leave
Eckert screamed at Deputies when they arrived on the scene. He was on his porch with a gun and told them to leave him alone and leave his property.
Tactical Team Called
The Maine State Police Tactical Team was called and a perimeter was set up.
Suspect Apprehended after Stand-off
Eckert was taken into custody around noon on Monday after a stand-off with police. He was transported to the Somerset County Jail.
