A 23-year-old man was sentenced for illegally entering the U.S. after prior removal.

Previously Removed form U.S.

William Ariel Tamay Guaman from Ecuador was sentenced to time served, approximately seven months, after pleading guilty on April 2, 2025. He had previously been removed form the U.S. in September 2023.

Surveillance and Traffic Stop

Tamay Guaman was pulled over February 4, 2025 by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Removal Operations (ERO) and the FBI after surveillance of a South Portland residence.

Gave False Name

“An ERO agent familiar with Tamay Guaman approached the driver and asked for their name. Tamay Guaman provided a false name and was directed to step out of the vehicle,” said the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Fled on Foot and Resisted Arrest
