A 76-year-old man died Tuesday night after he fell in the road and was hit by a truck on Main Street in Readfield.

Maine State Police said Andrews Tolman of Readfield was walking across Main Street when he tripped and fell.

The driver of the Ram truck “did not see Mr. Tolman lying in the road, resulting in Mr. Tolman being struck and killed,” said Shannon Moss, Public Information Officer, Maine Department of Public Safety.
Officials said Alcohol and Speed were not Factors
Police said alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
