
Man Charged with Domestic Violence after Police Standoff in Maine
A 55-year-old man was arrested after a domestic violence situation and police stand off in Lowell.
Police Standoff
The Maine State Police said Troopers arrived at the residence on West Old Main Road and helped the victim to safety.
Man Refused to Leave House
The woman’s husband, Andrew York, refused to come out of the house. The Maine State Police Tactical Team and Crisis Negotiation Team were called in.
Suspect Taken into Custody
York surrendered hours later and was taken to a local hospital for evaluation. No one was injured.
Domestic Violence Charges
He was then transported to the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office and faces domestic violence charges.
