Maine Student Seriously Injured after Vehicle Crashed into Pole
Two students from Gardner were injured in a crash, one with serious injuries, after hitting a pole on Cony Road in Augusta on Wednesday.
Four Students in the Vehicle
Four students from Gardiner Area High School were in the vehicle. They were going to technical education classes around noon when the crash happened.
Two Students Injured and Two Not Injured
One student had serious injuries, one student had minor injuries and two students were not injured, said the Augusta Police Department.
Expected to Recover
All students are expected to recover from the accident. Their families were all notified of the crash and injuries, according to the Kennebec Journal.
Students Traveling to Tech Center for Classes
The students were going to CATC, Capital Area Technical Center, when they crashed. They were not in a vehicle provided by the school.
Road Temporarily Closed for Crash Reconstruction
Cony Road was closed off for a period of time after the crash and has since reopened.
