Maine State Police responded to a rollover crash in the town of Masardis involving a tractor trailer loaded with potatoes.

Police say 62-year-old Brian Albert of Sinclair was traveling south on Route 11 late Wednesday afternoon when he attempted to pass a DOT snowplow that had pulled over to the side of the road.

As he was passing, Albert’s front driver’s side tire went into the soft snow on the left side of the road, according to Trooper Caleb Adams. This caused the tractor trailer to go off the roadway and roll onto the driver’s side of the truck.

Albert was wearing his seat belt and was not injured. The poor road conditions and limited visibility played a large factor in this crash, Adams said.

The rig, a 2002 Peterbilt, was left overnight because of the snow storm, and arrangements were made to pull the truck out on Thursday.
