The Longest Ice-Skating Trail in the US is at This Gorgeous New England Resort
As the temperatures continue to drop, winter activities continue to grow.
Ice fishing and ice skating can really only begin in New England after multiple weeks in a row of below-freezing temperatures.
Well, you know how it's been cold? Those painfully cold temperatures have paid off - ponds and lakes across New England are ready for skating.
*Not all ice in New England is safe - always check before walking on the ice*
Ice Skating in New England:
There are tons of human-made ice rinks in New England.
Like the beautiful Puddle Dock Pond right in downtown Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

New England also has a combo of human-made / "natural" ice rinks.
Like the skating path through a flooded forest. To see that ice skating path, click here.
But if you really want to experience a cool outdoor ice skating environment, you might want to head to Lake Morey Resort.
The Longest Ice-Skating Trail in the U.S.A:
Lake Morey Resort in Fairlee, Vermont is home to the longest ice-skating trail in the entire United States.
When the ice is safe, usually in mid-January to February, Lake Morey carves out a skating trail that is about 4.5 miles long, according to a Vermont Vacation article.
Don't get me wrong, doing laps around an ice rink is fun, but skating straight for an hour on an ice path is so incredibly freeing.
Plus, Lake Morey is gorgeous, so you can skate through a plowed ice path surrounded by a massive lake, beautiful mountains, and (hopefully) under a bluebird sky.
Side note: two of my best friends got married here and it is a beautiful location for a weekend away or a wedding.
Check out Lake Morey's longest ice skating path in the country at 82 Clubhouse Rd, Fairlee, VT 05045.
