Christmas and Valentine's Day seem to be the most popular time of year to get engaged.  Pictures pop up all over Facebook of rings.  Statuses change from 'in a relationship' to 'engaged' with in minutes after the proposal.  But does the proposee really want the proposer to pop the question on these days?

My opinion...it's unoriginal.  I was proposed to on a day that was set aside for me and only me.  Not a day where a thousand other couples would also get engaged.  I think it lacks creativity and spontaneity.  I almost get a sense that men (mostly men) feel a sense of obligation or pressure to propose on Valentine's Day.

So, what are your thoughts.  Getting engaged on Valentine's Day.  Original?  Lame?
