Northern New England has seen a slight rise in the price at the gas pump this past week.

According to GasBuddy.com, the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded in Maine was $2.25. That's a jump of 2.5 cents over the past week. In Presque Isle, most stations were showing a price of $2.42 a gallon. Last week prices were at $2.36 a gallon.

Gas prices in New Hampshire only went up less than a penny to an average $2.23 a gallon. Vermont prices rose 1.4 cents a gallon to $2.35 a gallon on average.

The national average price of gas has gone up 6.8 cents in the last month, but is still 19.6 cents a gallon lower than last year at this time.
