March is Red Cross Month.

And this month The American Red Cross Home Fire Campaign kicks into high gear to help save lives by installing free smoke alarms in homes that don’t have them.  They also educate people about home fire safety, and home fire prevention.

All part of the Northern New England Home Fire Campaign, and Sound The Alarm.

Home fires claim seven lives every day, but if your home has working smoke alarms the risk of death can be cut in half.  Pretty good odds, and again these smoke alarms are free.

The American Red Cross rallies volunteers to install free smoke alarms all over America, as part of their Sound the Alarm events.

And they are always looking for volunteers to be a part of the program.

They install free smoke alarms, create escape plans and share fire safety information.

There are Sound the Alarm events all over Northern New England, and to make an even greater impact they always look for community members to help families prepare for, respond to and recover from home fires.

If you need smoke alarms/detectors in your home reach out to the program.
