Fort Kent's 150th Anniversary has daily events, with all kinds of activities lined up for Friday, August 9th. Take a look at the schedule below and join the fun as Fort Kent celebrates 150 years.

Friday’s events:

9am-7pm: Fort Kent International Muskie Derby – Weigh Station at Up North Outdoors Parking Lot (35 West Main Street) Fish & Awards on Display

9am-7pm: Blockhouse Open to the Public

10am: Runaway Bride Bridal Boutique Trunk Sale (178 West Main St)

10:30am-7pm: Rotary Club Muskie Derby Food Court – SW Collins Parking Lot (35 West Main) Lobster Rolls & Strawberry Shortcake

11am-7pm: Ploye Festival Food Court – Martin Klein Post 133 American Legion Hall (411 West Main) Choose from a full meal deal or order a la carte. Serving beans, hot dogs, hamburgers, dough boys, ployes, popcorn and more

11am-1pm: NorState FCU Bockouite en Fête – 164 Market Street, Free ployes for members- Fort Kent Branch Only! Sorry, no takeouts.

12pm: US Customs & Border Patrol Demo – Riverside Park, Boat, Helicopter & K9 Demonstrations

12pm-3:30pm: NMMC Community Fun Day – Riverside Park, Bouncy House, Clowns, Games, Arts & Crafts, Face painting, scavenger hunt

12pm-4pm: Fort Kent Historical Society Train Station & Thibodeau Visitor Center Open

12pm-5pm: Fort Kent Public Library Used Book Sale – Library Basement - Fill a bag for $1

12pm-7:30pm: Ploye Festival Craft & Vendor Fair – Lion’s Pavilion, Riverside Park

2pm-4pm: Free Ploye Samples – Riverside Park

2:30pm-4:30pm: River Ukes Ukulele Band Performance – Lion’s Pavilion, Riverside Park

4pm-9pm: CanAm Pub Crawl – Crossings Bar (328 West Main Street), Purchase a pub crawl glass at the Town Office or Chamber of Commerce.  Bring it to Crossings with the Friday night coupon that comes with the glass to get $1 off beer.  (Last night of the Pub Crawl)Sponsored by the Acadia Federal Credit Union.

5pm-8pm: Tethered Hot Air Balloon Rides (weather permitting), Riverside Park - $10 adults/$5 kids.

Aa part of Fort Kent’s anniversary this year, the Muskie Derby is happening August 9-11 & the Ploye Festival also starts the 9th.

Friday Preview: Northern Maine Medical Center is sponsoring a community fun day from noon to 3. The event is free and open to all. Bring the whole family for face painting, a scavenger hunt, laser tag, a bouncy house and lots more!  They'll have free refreshments and prizes! Friday from noon to 3 at Riverside Park in Fort Kent.
