Meanwhile, the Saint John River in Fredericton has reached last year's devastating flood level and is also causing significant flooding in southern New Brunswick.
Emergency officials caution the river levels will continue to rise in southern parts of the province over the next few days. Levels in northern regions have stabilized but are expected to remain above flood stage for the rest of the week.
For a second day, Andover Elementary, Perth-Andover Middle School and Southern Victoria High School are closed due to flood conditions.
