State Police say a Waldoboro man died in a fatal crash on the Maine Turnpike Friday morning in Wells.

Troopers say a pickup truck slammed into the rear of a turnpike plow truck, killing the man driving the pickup. The crash was in the far left travel lane, at mile 16 northbound.
The man killed is 48-year-old Michael Sands of Waldoboro. Troopers said he was killed instantly.
