Death Toll Rises After Junior Hockey Bus Crash
The death toll rose to 15 on Saturday after the bus crash Friday near Tisdale, Sask involving the Humboldt Broncos, a Saskatchewan junior hockey team, said the RCMP.
14 people were injured in the accident with some in critical condition. The bus was carrying 29 people when it collided with a semi-trailer about 30 kilometres north of Tisdale, Sask, the cbc.ca said. There were 24 players on the Broncos with other personnel on the bus.
The semi-trailer driver was uninjured in the collision. He was detained after the wreck, and has been released. Officials say it is too early to determine the cause of the accident, said the cbc.
The Broncos were on their way to Nipawin for Game 5 of its SJHL semifinal series.
