State Police have released the identity and cause of death of a body discovered on the Mohawk Rd in Lincoln earlier this week.

According to Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesperson, Shannon Moss, 51-year-old Jason Nadeau of Lincoln was shot to death.

"On Thursday, November 21, 2024, an autopsy was performed at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta where the cause of death was determined to be gunshot wounds, and the manner of death was ruled a homicide. The MSP has identified all involved parties, and no arrests have been made at this time."

Moss says authorities were called to the Lincoln residence just after 9 AM on Wednesday for the report of gunshots. When police arrived on scene they discovered Nadeau's body and had it transported to Augusta for an autopsy.

The State Police Major Crimes Unit North and the Evidence Response Team processed the home and conducted interviews.

Authorities believe there is no ongoing public safety concern at this and that this was an isolated incident.
