It’ll be a little bit longer still for Boston Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts to rejoin his teammates, as the Netherlands moved on to the World Baseball Classic championship round with a win over Cuba Wednesday morning.

The Dutch side won 14-1 over Cuba on Tuesday and punched their ticket to the next round after Japan beat Israel in the final game of the group stage on Wednesday morning.  The Netherlands overall have a record of 4-2 and have lost to just Israel and Japan in the tournament so far.  The side has also scored at least five runs or more in all but one of the games they’ve played.

Bogaerts is hitting just .176 during the WBC and has just three hits and two runs batted in.  He is joined on the roster by other MLB players like Jurickson Profar, Didi Gregorius, and Jonathan Schoop.  The Netherlands will now wait to see who they will face, as they are schedule to play the winner of Pool F in the semi-finals on March 20th in Los Angeles.
