The Maine State Police Major Crimes unit was called out to Harrison Road in Norway after a body was discovered buried in a backyard.

According the Sun Journal, the body of a woman in her 80s was found at 239 Harrison Road Route 117 while detectives were conducting a search. It seems unclear whether or not the search was related to the discovery of the body however as public safety spokesman Steve McCausland only said that the body was discovered while conducting a search. Police believe the woman may have lived in a mobile home at the location and had died between a year and 18 months ago.

Several Oxford Hills area residents posted on social media after seeing the State Police Crimes Unit yesterday, curious about what was going on.

The body was taken to the State Medical Examiner's Office in Augusta to determine the cause of death and to positively identify the woman, the newspaper reported.
