Bangor-Area Law Enforcement Working Hard To Crack Down On Drug Cases
Local law enforcement agencies have been hard at work the last few months, doing what they can to stop the trafficking of drugs in our area.
In Old Town, over the course of the past 2 months alone, they have arrested 7 people in connection with illegal drug activity. A
According to the Old Town Police Department Facebook Page:
"Over the past month, the Old Town Police Department has executed four search warrants for illegal drugs in the City of Old Town. This has resulted in the seizure of 24 grams of fentanyl, 123 grams of methamphetamine, 2.2 pounds of cocaine base (in packaging), 4.8 pounds of marijuana, over 1300 capsules of illegally possessed prescription drugs, and two firearms."
The post goes on to say the Department has been stepping up its effort to remove from the community those that would do people harm by dealing drugs. But the Police Department also called on citizens to do their part.
"We ask that if you see something suspicious happening in your neighborhood that you contact the Old Town Police Department. Oftentimes a tip of suspicious activity can help us immensely when building a case."
The Penobscot County Sheriff's Office has also been busy with drug-related issues, as of late. They put a post out Tuesday detailing a drug bust that took place on Main Rd. in Greenbush last week.
"As a result of the search warrant, deputies recovered suspected methamphetamine, cash, a stolen motorcycle, a stolen trailer and a set of stolen coins.
